FREEFALL
Fibre installation, felted carpet // Wool, silk, glass beads, electronics, soundscape // 10’x5’ carpet, 20’ height
Commissioned for the Sechelt Festival of the Arts (2016), Freefall is a collaboration with fibre artists Kim Fenton, Yvonne Stowell and jeweller Keri Luciani. The work consists of a 20-foot fibre waterfall, an interactive felted floor carpet and a waterfall soundscape recorded at Stromberg Falls on Texada Island, British Columbia. Freefall has been installed in venues including the Seaside Centre in Sechelt, the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver and more intimate gallery spaces.
